Paloma Consignment opened at 508 E. 53rd St., Ste. 100 on June 10th. Opened by native Austinite and UT alum Caroline Phillips, the store sells lightly worn women’s clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry, featuring brands such as Reformation and Chanel.
Mad Hippie opened its first in-person store on May 28th at 700 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin. The flagship store sells both Mad Hippie skincare products and a selection of goods from local businesses, including ceramics, silk loungewear, and Moroccan textiles.
La La Land Cafe opened its second Austin location on 4416 Burnet Road in June. The coffee shop, known for its specialty lattes and toasts, soft-opened in Rosedale and is already seeing large crowds.
The Magnolia Musical Theatre and the city of Bee Cave Development Corporation will present “The Addams Family” Musical at the Hill Country Galleria. The show will run weekly from July 15th to August 15th at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays. Entry is free.
Hotel Viata in Westlake Hills is hosting an “Eat the Film” screening of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” on August 14th. The event runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and includes a screening of the film, accompanied by a dining experience inspired by “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” featuring chocolates and other confections. Tickets are $85 per person and $45 for kids 12 and under.
IKEA will close its Domain location at 3306 Esperanza Crossing to focus on larger home projects with a pickup format. The location is set to close on August 30th.
Amy’s Ice Creams opened a truck on North Lamar on July 8th, featuring dairy-free options, drinks, and a variety of flavors. Located at 927 W. 12th St., Austin, the truck’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Gati Cafe opened its second location on June 27th at 4500 Duval Street in Hyde Park. The cafe offers ice cream, baked goods, and brunch food, and its menu is completely gluten-free.
Indoor National, a private indoor golf club, opened at 8127 Mesa Drive, Ste. B200 in April. Members can bring their own food and drink to this self-service putting green, equipped with two Trackman iO simulator bays.
Texas French Bread has officially reopened its dining room after a fire damaged the building four years ago. The restaurant, located at 2900 Rio Grande St., offers daytime counter service from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner service from 5 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
