On Monday, May 16th, 2022, Kara and Kris Belew teamed up with Vanessa and Skeeter Miller to host "A Swinging Night with Benson," a rowdy BBQ and Whiskey-centered party, as part of St. David's annual "Toast of the Town" fundraising drive. The spirited event featured The County Line's legendary barbecue, as well as music by Grammy-award-winning Asleep at the Wheel, Ray Benson, and a sampling of Milam & Greene Whiskey provided by special guest Marsha Milam, creator of the Austin Film Festival and other iconic Austin events.
The party was held in The County Line on the Hill's private party room overlooking miles of beautiful Texas Hill Country. With only 30 guests, the party had an intimate family-style feel, and there was plenty of barbecue to go around. Before dinner, guests enjoyed Milam & Greene's award-winning whiskey and a moving speech by Issac Hluz, a recipient of the St. David's Neal Kocurek Scholarship for Central Texas students pursuing health-related careers, which the Toast of the Town parties will go on to fund. . .
