The Anderson Trojan swim & dive team competed in two meets in recent weeks.
The Trojans competed with 10 other area high schools at the Dragon Classic in Round Rock on September 24, placing 4th as a team.
The girls’ 200 Free Relay placed 2nd, swum by Elinor Layne, Ella Collins, Marie Taylor and Natalie Hoang. Collins, Hoang, and Taylor and Sophia De Leon took 3rd in the Medley Relay. The boys’ Medley Relay finished 4th, swum by Noah Schmidt, Brandon Lemens, Greg Raper and Brooks Taylor. Schmidt, Lemens, Raper and Griffin Tyler finished 4th in the 200 Free Relay.
Individual top-8 finishers included: Schmidt (50 Free, 100 Fly), Tyler (50 Free), Lemens (100 Free, 100 Back), Collins (200 Free, 100 Back), Raper (200 Individual Medley, 100 Free), Dylan Nguyen (100 Fly), Brooks Taylor (100 Breast), Marie Taylor (50 Free) and Miranda Simon (500 Free).
Anderson hosted eleven other teams for the Trojan Invite, held at Waterloo Pool. Trojans Ella Collins, Elinor Layne, Natalie Hoang, and Marie Taylor again combined for 2nd place in the girls’ 200 Free Relay. Collins, Hoang, Taylor, and Sophia De Leon swam for 3rd in the girls’ Medley Relay.
The boys’ 400 Free Relay and Medley Relay each placed 2nd. The Medley Relay was swum by Brandon Lemens, Brooks Taylor, Noah Schmidt, and Greg Raper, and the 400 Free Relay by Bobby Johnson, Raper, Lemens, and Schmidt.
For the girls, Collins won both the 200 Individual Medley and 50 Free. Also finishing in the top 8 were Schmidt (100 Fly, 100 Free), Lemens (100 Free), Nguyen (200 Individual Medley, 100 Fly), Raper (200 Free, 100 Fly), M. Taylor (50 Free), De Leon (100 Breast), Juan Ceresa (500 Free) and Sarah Waters (500 Free).
