St. David’s Foundation’s Toast of the Town, a springtime staple in Austin for more than 40 years, celebrates the best of Central Texas. Each party brings its own flavor and highlights some of the most distinctive parts of Austin. One of this year’s 21 exclusive events featured two guests of honor as part of their welcome back to Texas, Texas Longhorn legendary Coach Mack Brown alongside his wife, Sally Brown. Hosted by Melissa and Dr. Minas Constantinides, Felicia and Craig Hester, Cindy and Clifton Lind, and Araminta and Tom Sellers, the party took place at one of Austin’s most acclaimed barbecue spots, Franklin Barbecue, where the restaurant closed the entire space for the private event. Welcoming the national championship coach back to Austin with true Texas hospitality, guests, many of whom donned their best burnt orange, were treated with Franklin’s world-famous barbecue. The attendees enjoyed a private behind-the-scenes look at how the famous brisket is made, and Coach Brown regaled the guests with a few remarks to cap off the evening.

Toast of the Town benefits the St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship, the largest healthcare scholarship program in the state of Texas, ensuring deserving Texas students are able to achieve their dreams to become health care professionals. For more information, visit toastaustin.org.
