Carrying Hope, an Austin-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families impacted by the foster care system, recently held its ninth annual Hope Blooms Gala at Assembly Hall. The sold-out crowd of more than 250 guests raised a record-breaking $200,000 for the organization’s mission of providing critical resources, support services, housing, and enrichment activities for the community it supports.

Guests enjoyed a delectable dinner from Contigo Catering, live music from the Palmeranians, dessert by AniCakes Co. Bakery and Creature Coffee Co., and drinks and cocktails from Dulce Vida Tequila, Empress Gin, Real Ale Brewing, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Total Wine & More.

Emcee Rosie Newberry from KXAN expertly ensured that attendees understood the impact their donations would make for Carrying Hope, and auctioneer Andrew Bost kept the crowd excited through a live program that included Heads or Tails, a live auction, and Paddles Up.

Heartfelt keynote speeches from four participants of the organization's Hope's Home program added to the emotional and poignant tone of the night.

"Our Hope Blooms Gala is the most important night of the year for Carrying Hope, and the funds we raise this evening provide life-changing and, frankly, life-saving opportunities for the babies, children, teens, and aging-out youth that we serve," said Executive Director Kristin Finan. "We would not exist without this event, and we are deeply humbled and extremely grateful for the support we receive on this night. Our attendees have changed the trajectory for tens of thousands of young people across Texas who have endured very difficult circumstances, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts."
